The older I get, the more I become like my mom in the sense that I enjoy decorating for the seasons and holidays. I recall growing up that my mom would decorate our windows for Valentine’s Day, adorning it with sparkly heart-shaped stickers and phrases. She’d then change it up for the spring, breaking out the Easter decor and in a crystal dish on the coffee table (before they got rid of it), she’d put tiny chocolate egg candies inside. I think one year she may have even decorated for St. Patrick’s Day (we’re not Irish). It’s one of the many things I think about now as an adult that added a little whimsy to my childhood and it’s something we hope to recreate for our family.
