Prior to a year or so ago, I was not much of an accessory person. While I wear earrings, my wedding and engagement ring, and sometimes I’ll wear a necklace, I typically wear the same purse everywhere I go, and don’t spend too much time thinking about how to accessorize my outfits. I’d always focus mostly on what I was wearing. Part of it has been because, truthfully, I didn’t feel like I had a ton of space to accommodate different kinds of bags, so I found myself being drawn to neutral browns and black-colored bags rather than venturing out like I used to when I was in college.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve been trying to discover my style again since having a baby, but I’ve found myself being more open to adding more accessories than I typically add to my attire. Recently, that has looked like wearing more rings than usual, layering necklaces when it fits the outfit, experimenting a little with my shoes, and even looking at affordable, smaller bags to wear that I can mix and match with my outfit. I am not a fashion expert, and I will say that I am still figuring out aspects of what I like and don’t like when it comes to what fits my postpartum body, but I like how wearing more accessories can instantly make an outfit feel more complete.
Now that fall is approaching, I’ve found myself looking at hats, scarves, and other accessories in hopes of adding them to my renewed collection of accessories as well.
In today’s post, I’m sharing some of my favorite, affordable accessories and some that I’ve added to my cart recently as we get closer to the fall season.
