It’s official – the travel bug has bitten us again and we’ve found ourselves thinking about where we might want to go this summer – even if just for a couple of days to relax. Last summer we didn’t go anywhere; instead, we did things around the house during our time off from work. This summer we’re hoping to head somewhere with just the two of us for a couple of days or so and as a result, I’ve been thinking a lot about not just where we’d want to go, but things we’d consider bringing with us or purchasing for our trips.
If you’re also planning on heading somewhere this summer that’ll require some long drives, here are a few things that may be of interest to consider for your trip as well.
Car Backseat Organizer Car Organizer Kick Mats: This would be perfect for a family or for people traveling with passengers in the car. We were thinking of getting these for storage, but our car already has nets on both sides. We may still end up purchasing it though.
BAGSMART Toiletry Bag Travel Bag with Hanging Hook: Admittedly, I used ziplock bags to store most of our toiletries such as our toothpaste when traveling. I know, there are literally products designed to carry those things. That’s why when I saw this bag, I thought about adding it to our list of things we should purchase soon because it not only has enough space for our toiletries while traveling, but it’s in a super convenient travel case, that would make it just as likely not to take up much space as our zip-lock bags do.
GOTDYA Travel Pillow, Travel Neck Pillows for Sleeping: Great for long car rides or plane rides if you want to doze off for a bit. For long trips, I definitely end up falling asleep at some point, depending on how early we had to get up and how long the drive was. Grab one of these to keep you from waking up with a crick in your neck.
HOMEST 2 Pack XL Wash Me Travel Laundry Bag: These are perfect for storing dirty laundry while you’re traveling and unable to wash your clothes. Most of the places we’ve stayed don’t have a laundry room on site, so storing them in bags to keep them separated from our clean clothes until we arrive home are always helpful.
YAMIU Travel Shoe Bags Set: I love packing different pairs of shoes to wear with certain outfits, but I also don’t like having shoes that I’ve worn outside, rubbing up against my clean and dirty clothes. We’re also “no shoes in the house” kind of people, so I don’t have if there’s a correlation with that, but the amount of things I’ve stepped over while walking down the street has led me to not trust the cleanliness of the bottom of my shoes. Having a separate bag for your shoes helps because it keeps things from touching.
Portable Door Lock Home Security Door Locker: I found out about this on TikTok and have it added to our travel list. It’s something I honestly never thought about it, but it seemed like something that was worth looking into for extra added safety when you’re staying in hotels and AirBnbs.
Handheld Mini Fan, 3 IN 1 Hand Fan: When you’re outside and it’s hot, you’ll be thankful you grabbed one of these.
Mini First Aid Kit, 110 Pieces Small First Aid Kit: Another thing that I didn’t really think to travel with until I saw this. I’ve packed bandaids, but kits like these come with other things that can be useful in the event of a minor cut or scrape while out.
Unisex Mini Belt Bag with Adjustable Strap: I’ve thought about purchasing this for Han, so that when we’re out and about, he has his own little bag that he can wrap around him like a crossbody or a backpack to carry his stuff.
Toilet Seat Covers Paper Flushable (50 Pack): I will avoid a public bathroom if I can, but they’re often unavoidable when you’re traveling for some distance. I discovered these flushable covers and will definitely be utilizing this if I have to use the restroom while traveling.
Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier – Lemon Lime: Whether you’re flying, driving, or the Car DJ and Passenger Seat Navigator, hydration is important. I’ve started using little hydration packs and can see myself using these during the summer while traveling or out.
