A few weeks ago, my wife and I were in the mood to try a coffee shop we hadn’t tried before. I saw some videos about some coffee shops in the area on YouTube that I heard about, but I couldn’t remember the names of them – just the location which was Queen Village. My wife went to Google, typing in keywords based on the information I told her. While we ended up not going to the coffee shop I was initially talking about this time around, we did find a coffee shop that piqued both of our interests, equally – Three Graces Coffee Co.
Three Graces Coffee Co is a new coffee shop that opened in Queen Village during the pandemic. There isn’t much information on their website about their origin, but after a quick Google search, you find out a lot about the owner and their reason for creating the shop. According to this article by Philly Mag, the owner, Yulee Park, was an attorney in New York before trying her hand at coffee. She was quoted by the article saying, “a lot of cafes are very masculine — brown and industrial. I wanted a space that wasn’t quite feminine, but something softer.“
THE CAFE
My wife, who notices interiors a lot more than I do, acknowledges that she loved the space when she visited. She spoke a lot while we were there about the bistro chairs, the color scheme, and the mural in the background that she loved. Due to the pandemic, they aren’t really allowing guests to dine in, which is understandable, but they have some chairs out back that you can sit on. The indoor chairs they had towards one of the walls in the cafe, but we’re sure when they fully reopen for indoor dining in the future the complete setup will be even nicer. We get our coffee to go, though, so that wasn’t really an issue for us. It is something to keep in mind though if you’re looking for a cafe to sit inside of.

THE COFFEE
The coffee was very good. In fact, it’s so good that we’ve gone back multiple times since our first visit that holiday weekend. My wife got the Mocha Latte while I ordered the Twix Latte, which was pretty delicious. The Twix Latte is a latte mixed with caramel and chocolate syrup, which they don’t skip on, which is nice. You get a nice amount of sweetness in every sip. For their iced lattes, my wife says that the straws they use are slightly bigger than most coffee shops, which she liked because she gets more coffee in each sip. I had a sip of her latte and would agree that it definitely makes for a flavorful experience.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THREE GRACES COFFEE CO?
We would highly recommend this coffee shop. It’s delicious, close to South Street, which is a pretty popular spot, and is in East Passyunk, which is an area with a lot of restaurants to try. The coffee is great and the baristas there are always welcoming and kind. If you’re looking for new coffee places to try, we think you’ll really love this place. We look forward to going inside when they officially reopen their indoor dining.
