The Ultimate Delaware Coffee Shop Guide

A little while back we shared some of our favorite coffee shops to visit in Delaware. While many of the selections are still just as good and places we enjoy frequenting, we recently decided to update that post by creating a new one including some of the newer places we’ve enjoyed visiting. If you’re looking for coffee shops in Delaware to try, we have some that we’d recommend and others that were recommended to us that you should try as well! We’ve included our personal recommendations for locations we’ve visited and will continue to update and add more as we discover more shops!
shops to try when in Delaware

BrewHaha:
One of our favorite coffee shops and go-tos whenever we’re in Wilmington. The coffee is great, the service is incredible and the baristas have always been so professional and friendly.
Recommended drink(s): The Brew Haha, which is their latte with raspberry and dark mocha is delicious.
Location:

Milk & Honey:
This shop we discovered after LOMA closed down on Market Street. It’s so good and the service is amazing! The first time we went, we weren’t sure what to order and the barista there was very helpful and patient with us, even excitedly recommending a flat white drink that my husband ended up loving. It’s black-owned and has two locations in the Wilmington area. We think you’ll love it!
Recommended drink(s): The Wilmington Flat White.
Location:
Centerville Cafe:
We discovered this coffee shop one day after craving some coffee one afternoon near Longwood. It’s a friendly environment with great coffee and lots of options to choose from.
Recommended drink(s): Their PSL (Pumpkin-Spice Latte) is delicious!
Location:
Perfect Cup Cafe
Perfect Cup was one of the first places we went together for breakfast when we first started dating in Delaware. While it specializes in food, their coffee is also incredibly delicious and I always enjoy my drinks whenever we dine there just as much as my food.
Recommended drinks: They have quite a few options to choose from, so it depends on your mood but I enjoy for your first time going with one with French Vanilla in it.
Location:
Legal Grounds Cafe:
Another one of our go-to’s whenever we’re in Delaware is Legal Grounds Cafe. The coffee shop, whose name is a nod to the lawyer office it shares a building with, has seasonal drinks that they release for guests to enjoy. We haven’t had a drink from there that we’ve disliked.
Recommended drink(s): We’d recommend their “Snickerdoodle” or their “Apple Caramel Latte” if available. It’s so good.
Location:

Little Goat Roasting:
Located in Newark, DE, this coffee shop has unique flavors each time that you go. They also have this vegan whipped cream that tastes pretty delicious for it not having dairy. We’d highly recommend you check this place out at least once when in the area.
Recommended drink(s): Honestly, their drinks often change, but we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve had there.
Location:
Sweet Nel’s:
We discovered this coffee shop on a whim one day when we were on our way back from hanging out in Wilmington. This coffee shop not only has great coffee, but they sell ice cream! When it’s warmer out, we’ll definitely return for the ice cream. So far we love grabbing their coffee drinks and their hot chocolate!
Recommended drink(s): We loved their Mocha Latte, but we also highly recommend their hot chocolate.
Location:

De La Coeur
De La Coeur is technically closed as it closed during the pandemic, but we’re still posting it in the event that they hopefully decide to reopen in the future as their coffee and food are both incredible. It had delicious coffee (shoutout to La Colombe beans that they used), great service, and is amazing food. I hope they open again soon!
Recommended drink(s): The Mocha Latte is swoon-worthy.
Location: *closed*
Dolce Bakery and Cafe
As mentioned in a previous post, we went here when we visited Milford, DE together for a concert festival happening down there, we grabbed a coffee while exploring the downtown area. Whether you want a baked good or a warm drink, this place is definitely a place we’d recommend.
Recommended drink(s): Their seasonal coffees and teas are delicious!
Location:
Governor’s Cafe in Dover, Delaware
This coffee shop is one we tried on a rainy day in Dover and we enjoyed our drink very much! We both got coffees with chocolate syrup in it and said that we’d love to go back to visit one day for lunch as they have quite the menu.
Recommended drink(s): We haven’t tried a lot of their drinks, but we enjoyed our coffees with chocolate syrup. They have an array of syrups to select from however.
Location: 144 Kings Hwy SW, Dover, DE 19901
