It’s been a little over a month since we’ve posted here, but as some of you know, last month and the week before it really, really sucked for us. However, it’s a new month and we’re both finding ourselves feeling a little more hopeful than the last and trying to take each day, one moment at a time, celebrating the little joys along the way. Like hearing my nephew say “I love you” and I felt my heart melt into a million pieces or like how Han and I are seeing a show soon that we’ve been wanting to see for a long time.
Our anniversary is this month and so is a close friend’s wedding that my husband is a part of. We’re both somewhat more hopeful than last month and praying that going forward we will have better days going forward. We’re hoping and praying that this month is full of good news and answered prayers, because we could really, really use some good news and a miracle right now. We are feeling hopeful and praying that it all works out the way we’re hoping that it does.
Here are some of the things we have enjoyed, read, listened to, and watched recently.
READING
We haven’t been reading much the last month, but I’m still not finished reading “The Vanishing Half yet. Hoping to finish this sometime soon.
LISTENING
We started listening to “Up and Vanished” again because they have a new season out, which we both enjoyed. So far it’s really good.
WATCHING
We’ve started watching “YOU” on Netflix since we watched the first two seasons and whoa is this show wild.

Love these literary quotes about autumn.
This article talks about if true crime is rotting our brains. A very interesting read.
recent Snapshots

- At The Beach: My husband and I have been going to the beach a lot. We don’t stay long, but after a difficult time, he’s been driving me down there a lot to look at the ocean near some of the beaches where we used to spend some of our childhood time at. The first photograph was taken at a beach in Delaware while the second was taken in Wildwood, NJ, where I used to spend a lot of summers at as a kid.
- Rainbow: In the words of Left Eye, “I seen a rainbow yesterday after too many storms.” I have a thing with rainbows now – especially knowing how rare they are as they don’t happen after every rain storm. The sun has to reflect on the water droplets just right for you to see it. We saw one after visiting Delaware one weekend and it instantly brought us both joy and so much hope. Is it weird that I’m hoping it’s a sign of positive things to come and of God’s way of letting us know it’s all going to work out? What do you think of when you see rainbows in the sky?
- Family Time: We had lunch with family last month and it was definitely much needed. It was great getting out of the house, enjoying some good food and getting to spend time with loved ones having good conversation. I’d been to that restaurant before but it had been so long (I think around 5 or 6 years ago) that going here was like experiencing it for the first time.
