How is it already September? I feel like we blinked and 2021 is already more than halfway over, the school year has officially begun, PSLs are already available at coffee shops, and soon fall weather will be approaching. I am looking forward to this month, however as fall is one of my absolute favorite times of the year. I don’t like the shorter days, but I love the crisp, fall weather, the activities, the scents, the food, the birthdays, the colors…so much to love about the fall.
There’s also a lot of really exciting things happening in the next couple of months. My nephew is turning three soon. My husband’s sister is getting married. His best friend is getting married in a couple of months. It’s a lot of very joyous things happening and some things we’re still praying for, so we’re hopeful for things to come. We’re praying that this month is full of a lot of good news, answered prayer, and miracles!
Here are some things we’ve enjoyed recently or have been eyeing lately.
READING
We’re still reading through “Pachinko” and “The Vanishing Half.” I know, we’re terrible at reading as fast as we used to, but it’s been a busy few months.
LISTENING
In addition to “Rotten” we started listening to this podcast discussing things surrounding Britney Spears’ conservatorship case and life called “Toxic” and it’s pretty good so far!
WATCHING
Now that “The Bachelorette” is officially over, I’ve shifted over to “Bachelor in Paradise” while we’ve both been bingeing “Manifest” on Netflix.
LINKS
Starbucks has a new fall drink and I may have had it once or twice since it was released.
This post sharing how you can help Haiti, Louisiana, and Afghanistan. Also, I’m particularly hearing that with Haiti to avoid donating to the Red Cross.
This post from Carly, sharing the birth story of her son, Jack. I don’t know why but I always find birth stories to be interesting to read.
We’re both pretty big fans of Stephanie Soo’s Youtube videos as well.
These items from Amy’s new company, Olive Lane, seem pretty cool!
recent Snapshots

- Outfit Coordination: I snapped a picture of this after we came back from checking out Purgatory Chasm in Newport. After I snapped it, I realized my mask matched my nails and my phone case, which wasn’t intentional. It’s the little things, haha.
- Please Touch: I got the opportunity to spend some time with my baby cousin last month and we visited The Please Touch Museum, which was just as chaotic, but enjoyable as I remember it being.
- Selfie: We took this while going on a nature walk in Newport at a wildlife reserve nearby and it’s quickly become one of my favorites that we’ve taken together recently.
- Coffee Grinder: Speaking of favorites, it isn’t quite a trip to Newport without visiting The Coffee Grinder.
