It’s something about the cooler months that turns me into a hermit. Perhaps, it’s because of the chilly weather outdoors, but all that I want to do is snuggle inside with a blanket, a good movie, and a warm drink. The holiday season is also a really nice time to be able to connect with loved ones. In today’s post, I’m going to be sharing with you some holiday-themed date night ideas that you may enjoy with your significant other.
HAVE A COOKIE DECORATING CONTEST:
Purchase some pre-packaged cookies or make your own from scratch if you’re feeling up to it. Once you’ve baked your cookies, get an array of toppings and icing to top your cookies to try to see who could come up with the best ones. If you’re on social media, you can turn it into a contest by doing polls on Instagram or Twitter with the cookies and having others choose. The winner gets bragging rights.
HAVE A MOVIE NIGHT AT HOME WITH HOLIDAY-THEMED POPCORN:
Queue up “Home Alone” and some of your other favorite films while enjoying a bucket of homemade popcorn with a seasonal twist. Drizzle some chocolate over your popcorn and dust some crushed peppermint overtop for a salty, sweet, and minty treat. Let some sugar simmer on the stove until it caramelizes and pour it over your popcorn.

GO TO THE STORE AND GRAB GIFTS FOR EACH OTHER UNDER $20 BASED ON A THEME:
This idea is similar to the one you’ve probably seen trending on social media for a while. It’s the idea that you go to a store and pick up items for your significant other that they would like within certain themes. To make it appropriate for the holiday season, you can have those parameters be something like, “holiday candy” or “items that are the color red” that you think they might like.
GO ON A DRIVE TO VIEW THE HOLIDAY DECORATIONS WHILE LISTENING TO HOLIDAY MUSIC AND DRINKING HOLIDAY LATTES:
One of our personal favorite things to do is this. We love driving around our area, viewing the holiday decorations while sipping on our seasonal lattes and listening to Christmas music. Crank up the Mariah Carey, *NSYNC, TLC, and Arianna Grande, and hit the road.
HAVE A CAFE NIGHT AT HOME:
Brew some coffee or hot chocolate and add your favorite seasonal toppings on top! You could go all out and present a spread of different toppings or do something simple with putting out a few. I’ve done cafe nights before and it’s such a fun, easy way to connect!

GO TO A DRIVE-THRU HOLIDAY EXHIBITION AT A LOCAL FARM:
During this time of year, especially since the start of the pandemic, some local farms have been setting up exhibits where you can drive-thru holiday decorations. It’s really fun and we highly recommend that if you have one near you, you visit!
GO TO A HOLIDAY OUTDOOR EXHIBIT:
Every year Kennett Square has an outdoor holiday exhibit where you can look at Christmas trees, enjoy some holiday brews and explore some of the activities they have there. We’ve gone once before the pandemic, but could definitely see ourselves going again.
That being said, if you have one near you, it’s a super fun thing to do because in most cases it’s inexpensive as entry is typically free!
