Lately I have been on the hunt for prints for our home. I think prints make great gifts for family but are also great additions to the home because it gives your space some personalization and character. I’ve seen ones that are simplistic and more focused on design and others that are snarky with witty comments or puns. Whatever you’re looking for, I guarantee there’s probably a print somewhere that you can frame and add to your home decor.
Instead of buying prints, I realized that if I really spent the time, I could make some of the prints I wanted myself. So one day after coming back from a long vacation, that’s exactly what I did and today I am sharing some of those designs with you.
The crest was created primarily because we were in search of a logo. I debated revamping the old one that I used for my old blog or purchasing a custom made logo. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that if I purchased what I needed, I could truly make my own logo. I’m glad I did because I was able to truly customize it the way I wanted to.
In fact, after creating a crest for our logo, I created one for our family just for fun! I am excited to frame it and display it somewhere in the home and perhaps make a few ones for family and friends using different flowers. I don’t think it’s as good as some you’d see on Etsy, though, but I am pretty proud of it.
After making the crest, I thought I would make a print that I could display in the house. I love chinoiserie ginger jars and vases, so I thought incorporating one into a print would be really nice to display in our kitchen or bedroom. I made this print that’s inside of this mockup of a cellphone the same night and was feeling really inspired by it to make more. The pink in the floral arrangement was a nice way for me to add a little pop of color without it being too out of my style. I am excited to frame it and display it in the house.
Once I made one print, I then thought it would cool to make a fabric like print that repeated. The purpose for it was that I wanted something I could add as a hero image for some of my blog pages, but decided after making it that it didn’t really look as I imagined it would. Instead, I found I really loved the idea of using the print potentially for a towel, phone case, or desktop background, so I made some similar to the one above, but with the initial of our last name in it. The one above is the first one I made to use as a hero image.
After making these prints, I decided that I wanted to share some of these prints with you. I do not plan to sell these, but I love sharing things that I create as they’re made as I am able to. Like blogging, it’s a creative outlet for me that allows me to express myself and decompress a little bit.
If you are interested in any of these prints, feel free to download them below by signing up for my email a list! I only send emails once a week where I share the latest posts on the blog and occasionally some free items.
The only thing I request is that you only use these prints for personal use. Being that I am not selling it, I ask that you do not try to sell the item, give it out to someone else, or create an item with these freebies on them. Thank you!
I hope you like it!
