Newport, RI is one of the most idyllic resorts to visit during the summer on the East Coast. Whether you’re sailing along Narragansett Bay, enjoying a crab cake at Flo’s Clam Shack or driving along Ocean Drive, Newport is truly an area that you have to see to believe. Even as I’m writing this I am reminiscing on just how relaxing and beautiful the trip was.
With that said, Newport is quite expensive, especially during the summer. Even if you’re staying in an Airbnb, between lodging, travel arrangements, and food, you can easily spend 3-5k there depending on the length of time you’re there. However, there are plenty of things to do and places to eat that will allow you to experience the magic of Newport while not breaking the bank.

They sell more than donuts, but I’d recommend you try their peanut butter and jelly donut. It’s crispy, but the filling inside of it so delicious that it melts in your mouth.

Honestly, it’s hard to choose because their regular coffee is pretty good as well. However, I’d personally recommend the mocha latte is you’re looking for something that’s creamy and semi-sweet.

We unfortunately only got the chance to try two things, but those two things we’d highly recommend! Their calamari and their fried fish was incredible!

Other than their chicken which we really enjoyed, I’d recommend getting a meal that includes their biscuit and their tots. It’s so good.

Other than their burgers, I’d recommend trying their fries with their Mission Sauce is really delicious!
