We stayed in a place called The Londonderry, which I think might be a play on the township’s name where Hershey and the inn is located (Derry). It’s not directly in Hershey but was a pretty short drive away from Chocolate World and Hershey’s downtown area. The inn also had some nice amenities that made our short stay enjoyable. Before I get into some of the amenities of the place, let me share some of the inn’s location.
The Londonderry Inn is nestled in an 1840’s Victorian home in a small town known as Campbelltown in Palmyra, PA. It’s a scenic area because a short drive one way down Horseshoe Pike where the inn is located, you’re not too far from The Milton Hershey School, and a few minutes in the other direction past the inn, you’re surrounded by farmland. It’s truly a beautiful area and it’s no surprise that it’s a highly rated inn in the area. It truly felt like a respite from the bustle of downtown Hershey, where depending on the time of day you could hear the joyful screams coming from roller coasters as they whizzed by, the sound of cars whooshing by, and glasses clinking as people dine outside on the main road. While the latter things I just listed are nice, it was nice to be able to head back to a quiet place when it was time for bed.

THE AMENITIES
The Londonderry has quite a few amenities for guests who stay there. You have access to their basement area room that they call their “catacomb” which can be used as an event space. I didn’t get any pictures of it this time around, but they have a pool table down there that’s free for guests to use and some cozy chairs. They have a parlor area, an outdoor dining space, and beautifully manicured grounds. In addition to these things, breakfast was included in your stay. You could dine inside or dine outside in the courtyard. Admittedly, we missed breakfast both days this time around because we were always out the door before breakfast was served, but it’s something we’re definitely going to enjoy the next time we stay there.
They also give you quite a bit of bite-sized chocolate, which was a nice and unexpected gift when we arrived after work!

THE ROOM
Pictures truly don’t do this room justice. I remember when we arrived to the inn, the door open and ready for us to check-in since we checked in after hours, I looked at my husband and asked him, “this is our room right?”
We stayed in The Garden and it was so beautifully decorated and cozy. It’s described on their website as having “hints of a magnifique Paris vacation” and we could definitely see the Parisian influences. The walls were this beautiful sage color that matched the bedding. There were tiny sculptures around the room and this beautiful lattice-like wallpaper along the wall with columns in the corner. I didn’t notice it originally from viewing the photographs online, but it’s so pretty in person with the rest of the decor.
There’s a television and mini fridge in the room, which was really nice so that we could carry our leftover food home instead of throwing it out. We also put our chocolate bars in there, that we joked went through the cooling process twice because of how hot it was outside. The bathroom had ample towels and toiletries, including this shower cap. The room was clean and they even had the remotes and toilets sanitized, which helped to give us an added peace of mind.

WOULD WE RECOMMEND IT?
If you’re looking for a place to stay in Hershey, PA, we highly recommend this inn. While I believe the inn’s rooms are not designed for children, they do have a carriage house next door that I think would be the perfect spot for large families looking for a place to stay while going on a family trip together. It’s such a beautiful place and we look forward to visiting again in the future!
