Before scoring tickets to tour, I had been trying to arrange for an opportunity for my dad to get to tour Lincoln Financial Field for a minute. As a fellow Eagles fan, I thought it would be a really nice opportunity for him to see the behind-the-scenes of the stadium where his favorite football team plays. However, like tickets to their games, the tour tickets had been difficult for me to get. I think a lot of it had to do with the timing of which I was trying to get them, but every time I went to reserve tickets, they were all sold out.
Fast forward to last summer, when we returned from our babymoon, I decided to check one more time in hopes of scoring tickets for his birthday, and low and behold, they had tickets available for that following weekend. So, at the last minute, I rallied up the fam and asked them if they wanted to come, purchased the tickets and we all headed to The Linc that next weekend to tour.
You can read our Substack post for a more candid recap of our experience, we thought we’d focus instead in this post on what to know before you go so that you have an easier time getting tickets sooner than we did and so that you know what to expect when you go.
PLAN AHEAD:
I’m sure this goes without saying, but we truly were blessed to be able to get tickets as quickly as we did for the amount of people we were purchasing tickets for. Usually, tickets are released on the 20th of every month for the FOLLOWING month. If you’re thinking of touring The Linc, you may want to keep in mind their time frame and try to purchase within that window.
This probably also goes without saying, but weekend tours are pretty much non-existent during football season. I’m not sure if you tried to book a tour for during the week, but from what I’ve read, you can only book group tours during that time and it would have to be groups of 10 or more people. I’d stick to visiting during the off-season and trying to book at least a month in advance.

YOU GET A DISCOUNT IN THE PRO SHOP:
A perk is that by touring the stadium, you get a discount if you visit the Eagles store on the premises. I highly recommend you bring some extra money, if you’re able to, to take part in the discount and purchase yourself or your loved ones some Eagles gear. I’m sure the discount is void once you leave, so I’d take advantage of it while you’re there if you’re hoping to purchase some new items.
LEAVE YOUR BIG PURSE AT HOME:
While I don’t remember there being any real restrictions on what you could bring in terms of the size of your bag, you’re doing a lot of walking while you’re there. In addition to wearing comfortable shoes, I’d recommend bringing a smaller bag and packing light. You’ll be so enamored by how cool the experience is that you won’t really need to bring a huge bag with you anyway, in my opinion.

DON’T STEP ON THE EAGLES LOGO IN THE LOCKER ROOM:
You’re not supposed to step on the Eagles logo in the locker room. I can’t remember if it was a superstition thing or for another reason, but when we walked in, the guides that were in every room mentioned that we needed to avoid stepping on it. It’s easy to get so overwhelmed with the fact that you’re in the Eagles locker room that you can miss it, so make sure you’re watching where you’re stepping.
SNIFF THE EAGLES LOGO IN THE LOCKER ROOM:
I was pretty heavily pregnant at this point, so I didn’t bend down to smell it myself, but my entire family that was present did and said that it smelled like chocolate. I’d say it’s worth kneeling to give it a little sniff just to see.

YOU GET TO WALK ON THE FIELD – BUT STAY ON THE EDGES:
One of the coolest parts of the experience was getting to walk on the field. I had only been on there once before and that was for a foundation that was hosting an event at The Linc where the school I previously worked for got to hold the flag. During the tour, you are prohibited from stepping onto the turf and have to stay along the edges. It looks very different so it’s easy to tell where you should be walking/standing and where you shouldn’t be. They’ll also let you know when you visit.
SIT IN THE EXPENSIVE SEATS:
During your tour, you can also sit in the stadium seats! At the very front, closest to the field, there are these really nice seats that have padding to them and even storage. They’re very expensive per game, so we sat in them and joked that this would probably be the only time we’d be able to sit in these seats.
Well, I don’t want to spoil too much of the experience for you, but it was one that I’ll never forget. Getting to see the stadium where my favorite football team plays in honor of my dad’s birthday was such a wonderful experience. I’m glad we were able to score tickets and would highly recommend that you try to visit yourself.
